1. Introduction

Are you passionate about ultrasonic brain stimulation, neuroimaging and behaviour? If so, come and join the Cognitive Neuromodulation Lab as a research assistant to play a key role in coordinating and conducting ultrasonic neuromodulation studies in humans.

2. Job description

We are looking for a research assistant to support ongoing ultrasonic neuromodulation research. Our studies combine ultrasonic brain stimulation with methods of experimental psychology, functional neuroimaging (fMRI) and EEG. They take place at the Donders Centre for Cognition and the Donders Centre for Cognitive Neuroimaging. You will provide training and instruction on ultrasonic neuromodulation, support lab management and communication and contribute to data collection in ongoing studies. This includes participant management, data collection, ultrasound treatment planning and administration, teaching and demonstration, organising educational workshops, and administrative tasks.

3. Profile

  • You are a former or current student of Radboud University.
  • You have an MSc in Cognitive Neuroscience or a related field.
  • You are a certified experimenter in ultrasonic neuromodulation in humans.
  • Alternatively, you have a Donders TUS toolkit certification.
  • You are registered with DCC and/or DCCN facilities and procedures.
  • You have experience in 3T MRI data acquisition.
  • You are available to work flexible hours (potentially outside core office hours).
  • You have scientific coding skills in Python, R and/or MATLAB to run treatment planning and analysis.

Normally, being a (former) Radboud University student is not a qualification for our vacancies. Due to the short-term nature of this position, there is no opportunity to guide new employees through the facilities and procedures of DCC and DCCN. Therefore, it is only possible to apply for this position if you have (almost) finished your study at the Radboud University and already hold the Donders TUS toolkit certification.
